Noah Medical: Anchoring the Future of Platform-Based Medical Technology at a Value Watershed

This is the fifth in a series of in-depth research on Noah Medical. Building upon existing research, it aims to systematically analyze Noah Medical's long-term investment logic from both industry and company perspectives.

In reviewing this series of studies, we started with an industry analysis framework based on "clinical value creation," gradually focusing on the two key bottlenecks in the field of early lung cancer diagnosis and treatment: "diagnostic capability" and "integrated diagnosis and treatment." We then delved into the technological system and business model that Noah Medical has built to address these bottlenecks. At this point, the key elements required for investors to evaluate Noah Medical are complete: a clear industry logic, proven clinical capabilities, a sustainable business model, and promising growth potential. We will systematically integrate these elements and conduct a comprehensive review and positioning of Noah Medical from a capital market valuation perspective.

I. Industry Differentiation: Capital is Paying a Premium for "Creative" Capabilities

Currently, the valuation system in the medical robotics industry is shifting from "scale-oriented" to "capability-oriented." The early valuation framework, which focused on technological concepts and the number of installed units, is being replaced by the more fundamental "clinical value creation capability."

From a capital perspective, companies that optimize existing processes have relatively linear growth paths and their value boundaries are easier to measure, resulting in limited valuation elasticity and a tendency to fall into homogeneous competition. On the other hand, companies that can tap into unmet clinical needs and establish new diagnostic and treatment capabilities have non-linear growth characteristics, and their market space and application boundaries are more difficult to cap in advance, thus obtaining higher valuation premiums.

This divergence is particularly evident in the field of early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. With the widespread adoption of low-dose CT screening, "nodule detection" is no longer the main bottleneck; the industry's focus is shifting to "how to diagnose accurately" and ultimately, "integrated diagnosis and treatment." This is especially true in the case of small peripheral lung nodules, where traditional methods...

Limitations in reach and location make diagnostic capability a key variable restricting the integration of non-invasive diagnosis and treatment.

The essence of this problem lies not in improving efficiency, but in the lack of clinical capabilities. Therefore, the corresponding investment focus has shifted from "tool optimization opportunities" to "clinical capability creation opportunities"—demand is certain, technological barriers are high, and once a breakthrough is achieved, it often possesses stronger barriers to entry and a longer growth cycle.

Against this backdrop, capital allocation is shifting from upstream imaging equipment to interventional robotic platforms that can streamline the diagnostic process. Their valuation is based not only on the vast market for lung cancer itself, but also on the scalability and platform potential of this technology, once established, for reuse in multiple natural cavity scenarios.

II. Capability Validation: From Technical Solutions to the Establishment of Scalable Capabilities

The value of a company’s technological capabilities does not depend on their advanced nature, but on their ability to be transformed into replicable, scalable, productized, commercialized, and standardized capabilities.

Noah Medical's Galaxy system is a direct response to this problem. Its core lies not in improving traditional bronchoscopy, but in the integration of "flexible robotic bronchoscopy access" and "AI-driven real-time image localization" to specifically address two key issues: "CT-to-body divergence" and blind spots in accessing peripheral lung nodules. This fundamentally fills the gap in clinical diagnostic capabilities and the integration of non-invasive diagnosis and treatment.

The clinical data accumulated from over 10,000 surgeries (with a stable positioning success rate of approximately 96% and a biopsy detection rate of over 90%) is significant not only for functional validation, but more importantly, for providing preliminary evidence of "reproducibility"—that is, this system can transform complex clinical procedures that originally relied on expert experience into standardized clinical workflows based on surgical robot products.

The valuation implications of this shift are that when capabilities can be stably replicated across doctors and hospitals, the growth path will shift from "relying on individual expansion" to "system-wide scaling," thus establishing a foundation for scalability. At the same time, once standardized capabilities are established, it also means that clinical pathways, equipment usage habits, and data accumulation will gradually solidify, forming deeper barriers to entry.

Building on this foundation, the company is further expanding its "integrated diagnosis and treatment" capabilities. By performing high-precision biopsies and non-invasive local early cancer treatment within a single surgery, the value of a single device is no longer limited to the diagnostic stage but extends to the treatment stage, thereby increasing the value of a single surgery and the overall revenue depth.

This means that the Galaxy system is evolving from a "single diagnostic tool" into an "integrated diagnosis and treatment platform," expanding its commercial scope to a holistic system encompassing software, AI algorithms, specialized consumables, and clinical pathways. For the capital market, such capability-driven and continuously reinforced systemic barriers often correspond to higher valuation anchors and stronger long-term premiums.

III. Business Model: From Monetization Path to Growth Structure

From an investment perspective, the value of a company's technological capabilities depends on whether they correspond to a sustainable, scalable business model with compounding potential.

Noah Medical's "system + consumables + service" model is one of the most validated approaches in the current medical technology field. The Galaxy host serves as the entry point for capabilities, enabling installation in hospitals and clinical scenarios. However, what truly drives long-term revenue and profit is the disposable robotic bronchoscope and related consumables that are continuously consumed during surgery, as well as services based on system consumables.

The core significance of this model lies in shifting revenue growth from "equipment sales-driven" to "usage frequency-driven" and "product maintenance and value-added services." Once the equipment enters clinical practice and establishes stable usage habits, revenue will be directly linked to the number of surgeries, thus possessing greater predictability and sustainability. This is also a cash flow structure that the capital market prefers.

From the perspective of volume constraints, the payment system is a crucial element for commercialization. Currently, the US CMS has established a TPT payment code for disposable bronchoscopes, and China has also clarified the charging path for robot-assisted operations and related consumables at the policy level. The simultaneous improvement of the payment environment in these two core markets means that the institutional uncertainty of this business model is significantly reduced.

Looking further ahead, what truly determines whether this model can succeed is whether the device can be used frequently. The Galaxy system, through the deep integration of AI capabilities, significantly reduces the operational threshold and learning cost, enabling the device to quickly integrate into daily clinical processes and avoiding the common industry problem of "low usage" from the source.

Based on this, its growth logic no longer relies on external sales drivers, but instead forms an endogenous cycle of "installation → improved usage → increased consumables → value-added services." This growth structure with a multiplier effect not only makes the business model viable, but also enables it to be continuously strengthened.

IV. Platform Space: From Single Clinical Product to Expansion into Multiple Clinical Scenarios

If limited to lung cancer biopsies, Noah Medical's story remains a successful single-product narrative, with its "integrated diagnosis and treatment" approach achieving a commercial closed loop for lung cancer. However, its true long-term value lies in the platform potential of its technology system.

The core technology modules of the Galaxy system—flexible natural cavity intervention, real-time multimodal image fusion, and AI surgical navigation—were not designed for the lungs. Many other cavity systems in the human body present similar clinical scenarios: requiring high-precision instrument access and manipulation within complex and tortuous natural passageways. This means that the company's mature technological capabilities in lung cancer have the potential to be reused in other high-value natural cavity surgical scenarios.

This path of "deep validation at a single point and horizontal platform expansion" is one of the core logics behind the higher valuation premiums given to innovative medical technology companies by the capital market. It means that the company's market boundaries are no longer limited to a single disease, the economies of scale in its R&D will become more prominent, and the ceiling for long-term growth will be significantly raised. The leap from a single-product company to a platform company is the key thread for its future value enhancement.

V. Value Judgment: The Unity of Certainty and Growth Potential

In summary, Noah Medical's investment logic can be summarized into a unity of four levels:

In the industry, addressing the core bottleneck of lung cancer diagnosis and making integrated non-invasive diagnosis and treatment possible is a direction for creating new medical capabilities, with rigid demand and high barriers to entry.

In terms of capabilities, the "arrival + real-time image positioning" system has been verified through 10,000 commercial applications and has the foundation for standardized output;

In terms of commercialization, the "system + consumables + service" model has a clear path, coupled with the improvement of the payment environment in China and the United States, and has the conditions for continuous volume growth;

Spatially, natural cavity pathways have the potential for cross-departmental reuse, corresponding to platform-based expansion space.

Following a series of five in-depth analyses, Noah Medical's investment landscape has gradually become clear. Its value does not stem from a single technological breakthrough, but rather from a mutually supportive logical system: it has entered the high-value sector of early lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, a market with clear demand and existing capacity gaps; it has built a solution with preliminary clinical and commercial validation through "reach + real-time positioning"; and it leverages a "system + consumables + service" model and a gradually improving payment environment to create a path for converting technology into sustainable revenue. Furthermore, based on its natural cavity technology system, the company has the potential to expand into multiple departments, corresponding to a longer-term growth potential.

Based on this, investors' assessment of the company has shifted from "understanding the value of the technology" to "evaluating its commercial viability and growth potential." The core focus going forward will be on post-installation utilization rates and consumable volume, value-added services, progress in expanding into new indications, and the advancement of its platform strategy. In a context where medical technology investment increasingly emphasizes value realization, Noah Medical exhibits a structural characteristic of "verified capabilities, a clear path, and untapped potential."
